When Anniversaries Stir the Heart

Some days on the calendar carry more weight than others.

Long before the date actually arrives, your heart already knows it’s coming.
You may notice it weeks in advance—a quiet heaviness settling in, memories becoming more vivid, emotions rising unexpectedly. It’s as though your heart and body are gently preparing you for what lies ahead.
Grievers often describe this as reliving those final days all over again. Conversations replay in our minds. Memories resurface with remarkable clarity. The emotions we felt during that painful time seem to rise back to the surface.
This is a very real experience, often called anticipatory grief.
The body remembers. The heart remembers. Even when we try not to focus on the date, something deep within us already knows.
For many of us, anniversaries can feel like a quiet wave of sorrow moving through the days leading up to it. We may feel more emotional, more reflective, or simply more aware of the space our loved one once filled in our lives.
If you find yourself feeling this way, please know there is nothing wrong with you.
This is love remembering.
Anniversaries remind us that someone we deeply love once walked beside us in this life.
Because of that love, these days deserve to be honored.
Some people choose quiet reflection. Others visit a meaningful place, light a candle, share stories, or spend time with family. There is no right or wrong way to remember.
The most important thing is to honor the day in whatever way brings you the most peace and feels most meaningful to the life your loved one lived.
These anniversaries may stir our hearts and bring tears, but they also remind us of something beautiful.
A life that mattered.
A love that was real.
Memories that will always be part of who we are.
And love like that will always find a way to be remembered. 💜

Thank you for epressing in writing how we feel.
Love is really a powerful motivator. It all stems from God’s love!
