Hope For Your Weary Soul

If you are grieving, you may relate to the feeling of hopelessness that can sometimes accompany the journey through grief. Have you ever wondered if there is hope for your weary soul?

During the first year after Melanie’s death, I vividly remember feeling alone, as if I were stranded on an island. I couldn’t understand how everyone around me could continue with their lives. While my world was still dark and dreary, they laughed, smiled, made plans, and enjoyed time with friends. When you lose a loved one, the whole world feels different, doesn’t it? It’s as if others can’t see how lonely and shaken you are.
I’ve mentioned before that the loss of a child is a unique kind of loss. This isn’t to diminish other losses we experience, but this out-of-order loss is genuinely unlike any other. Yet, regardless of the type of loss, there will be times when we all feel hopeless on this journey. However, if you can hold on, I assure you there is hope for your weary soul.
