All loss is complicated and overwhelming, but child loss is a loss like no other. For those who have experienced the loss of a child, my heart is joined with yours. If we are to survive the loss of our loved one, there comes a point when we must find a way to begin the healing. After Melanie ran ahead to Heaven, the healer of my heart has been found in my faith. I remember the days when the pain was unbearable, and I felt lost. But my faith, in its own way, has been a constant companion, grounding me when nothing else could. Yes, you still hurt, and the pain is still there, but my faith has been a source of strength and comfort.



When you suffer a loss, and the grief is so deep, healing and restoration can seem so far off and unattainable. Walking through the early days, weeks, and months of grief, I found it hard to concentrate on much. Sometimes, the only thing I could focus on was breathing – literally one breath at a time. But I’ve come to realize that healing is a gradual process, and it’s okay to take it one step at a time. Continue reading here: Healing and Restoration
